Glass or solid door?
Glass lets staff and customers see the stock and sells drinks, which is why most single door units behind a bar are glass-fronted. Solid is the cheaper cabinet to buy and stands up better to knocks, so it suits a spot where nobody is looking at the fridge. The difference in running cost between the two is small.

Will it fit under my bar?
Most fit below a standard bar top, but check the height and the ventilation clearance on the product page before the joinery is built.

What about running costs?
Door seals, refrigerant and lighting decide the running cost more than size. Units in the energy efficient fridges range use modern refrigerants.

Can a single door bar fridge be built into joinery?
Only if the model is rated for built-in use. Most are free-standing and vent at the back or base, so boxing one in without an airflow path is the fastest way to kill the compressor.
