Commercial stainless steel accessories are the brackets, racks, rails, hooks and fittings that hold the rest of the kitchen in place: a rack over the sink to drain on, a shelf on the wall, the fixings that join one piece of stainless to the next. You can start with the stations that need covering now and add more as your business grows.

They are worth buying at the same time as the major items. Accessories ordered later arrive after the trades have left, which is how a wall rack ends up leaning in a corner for six months.

The main stainless ranges they support are stainless steel benching, commercial kitchen shelving and commercial stainless steel sinks.

Send us your fit-out list and get a quote with the accessories priced alongside the benching, so nothing is left off.

These are the top FAQs for Commercial Stainless Steel Accessories

What counts as a stainless steel accessory?

The fittings and small items that complete a stainless installation rather than the furniture itself: wall brackets, small racks, rails, hooks, drainer inserts, feet and the fixings that join components.

Where an item is really a shelf or a bench in its own right it sits in its own range — see commercial kitchen wall shelves and kitchen bench overshelves. Accessories are what goes with them.

Why use stainless rather than a cheaper material?

Because these items live in the wet, hot, greasy part of the building and they are often in contact with food or food equipment. Painted or plated steel fails at the edges first, and once the coating lifts the item cannot be cleaned properly.

304 stainless steel is the food-safety grade used in Australian commercial kitchens. For items that are not food contact and never get wet, something cheaper may be fine, but very little in a kitchen qualifies.

Will accessories fit equipment I already own?

Often, but it depends on the fixing arrangement rather than the material. Bracket spacings, rail diameters and frame profiles differ between manufacturers, so a part that looks universal may not locate on your bench.

Send measurements or a photograph with your enquiry. If the item is a replacement part for a specific machine, spares and accessories is the range to look in rather than this one.

What accessories does a new kitchen usually forget?

Knife storage, somewhere to hang utensils, a rack above the sink for drying, and the fittings to attach any of it to the wall. All of them get noticed on the first service and not before.

Add a knife wall rack and a set of commercial kitchen utensils hooks to the fit-out list early. They cost little and they change how tidy the room stays.

Can accessories be mounted to any wall?

The accessory is rarely the limiting factor; the wall is. Brick, concrete, stud and lightweight partition all need different fixings, and a loaded rack pulls down and outward at the same time.

Have it fitted by a trade and tell them what is going on it. Where it is part of a bigger job, our fit-out and project management page explains how we handle the install.

How are stainless accessories cleaned?

The same way as the rest of the stainless in the room: neutral detergent, wiped along the grain, dried rather than left wet. Small items are easier to neglect precisely because they are small, and they are often the ones in contact with clean crockery.

Avoid abrasive pads, which scratch the finish and create somewhere for grease to sit. Keep the right cloths and detergent from cleaning supplies at each station.

Can accessories be made to suit an unusual space?

Often, yes. Stainless is a fabricated material and odd dimensions, angles and cut-outs are routine work for the people who make benching.

Our custom refrigeration and stainless steel appliances page covers that side of it. Send dimensions and a sketch and we will tell you whether an off-the-shelf item from the stainless steel equipment range will do the job first.
