Combi oven stands set the height you load the oven at and hold the trays underneath it. A combi is loaded and unloaded constantly through service, often with hot trays in both hands, so the height it sits at is what makes that lift safe or awkward.

A combi steamer stand is usually built with tray runners rather than a flat shelf, so gastronorm trays slide straight in underneath and are there when you need them. That way the space under the oven holds trays instead of collecting boxes.

Combis also need water in and waste out, so the stand has to leave the connections and the drain reachable. See the combi steam ovens range for the machines themselves, and the wider stainless steel kitchen stands range for the other appliance bases.

Fitting a combi into an existing line is worth a conversation. request a callback and we will go through the clearances with you.

These are the top FAQs for Combi Oven Stands

What loading height should a combi oven sit at?

High enough that you can see into the top shelf, low enough that a full tray can be lifted out with both hands and controlled. For most cooks that means the bottom of the oven chamber somewhere around hip to waist height, and the top shelf below shoulder height.

The only way to get it right is to add the oven height to the stand height and check it against the people who will use it. Both dimensions are on the product pages and our specifications page explains the format.

Do combi oven stands have tray runners?

Many do, and that is the main reason to buy a purpose-built stand rather than a general one. Runners hold gastronorm trays on edge so you can pull one out without unstacking the pile, and they keep the trays off the floor where they would not be allowed anyway.

Check the runner pitch against the trays you already use. Our gastronorm trays and gastronorms and containers ranges list their sizes so you can match them.

How do the water and waste connections work with a stand?

A combi needs a water supply and a drain, and both have to reach the machine once it is up on the stand. Stands with an open back or a cut-out are easier to work with than a fully enclosed base, because the plumber has somewhere to route the pipework.

The connection sizes and positions come from the oven's own documentation, and the installation is a licensed trade job. Our appliance installation page explains what we can arrange, and the product documents page is where the manuals live.

How much clearance does a combi need around it?

Enough for the door to open fully without hitting anything, enough for air to move around the machine, and enough for a technician to get to the service panel. The specific figures come from the manufacturer for that model and are not something to guess at.

Allow for the steam as well. A combi vents moisture, which is why it usually sits under an exhaust hood or a modular canopy rather than against a bare wall.

Can I stack two combi ovens on one stand?

Stacking is a manufacturer decision, not a stand decision. Some combis are designed to be stacked with a purpose-made kit, and in that case the base unit usually sits on a lower stand or directly on feet so the upper oven stays reachable.

If stacking is not supported for your model, two separate ovens on matched stands is the alternative. Tell us the model and we will check it against the commercial ovens range before you commit to a layout.

Will a combi oven stand fit any brand of oven?

Not automatically. Stands are sized to a footprint, and a combi from one brand can be deeper or wider than another at the same tray count. The depth is the one that catches people out, because an oven overhanging the back of a stand cannot be pushed to the wall.

Send us the oven model with your enquiry and we will match the stand to it. The same applies in reverse if you already have the stand and are replacing the oven.

What else goes around a combi oven?

Trays, a rack to land them on, and somewhere to hold cooked food. Most kitchens pair the oven with oven racks for the chamber and a racking trolley for moving trays between the oven and the pass.

For holding at temperature afterwards, holding cabinets or a bain marie display take over from the oven. Keep the clean-down chemicals the manufacturer specifies on hand rather than substituting a general degreaser.
