2 x Vogue Chrome Wire Shelves 1525x457mm - U891
An extra shelf, a taller post, a set of castors or a divider turns the bays you bought last year into the layout the kitchen needs now, without replacing anything. Modular shelving accessories are how a store room gets reorganised rather than rebuilt, so you can start with the bays that need changing now and add more as your business grows.
The trick with shelving accessories is compatibility. Posts, clips and shelf dimensions are specific to a system, and parts from a different range will not locate properly even when they look similar.
Tell us which system you run and we will match the parts. The bays themselves are under modular shelving, and the refrigerated version is commercial cool room shelving.
Not sure what you already have? request a callback with a photograph of a post and a shelf and we will identify it for you.
The usual set is additional shelves, longer or shorter posts, clips, castor kits, feet, dividers and label holders. Between them they cover almost every change a store room goes through.
Which of those exist depends on the system. Check the listings here and the matching bays under modular shelving, and ask us if what you need is not shown.
Usually not. Post diameters, clip profiles and shelf widths are set by each manufacturer, and a part that is a few millimetres out will not sit securely even if it can be forced into place.
Buy to the system rather than to the dimension. If the original range is no longer available, we will tell you rather than sell you something that nearly fits — and spares and accessories covers the equipment side of the same problem.
With an add-on bay kit where the system offers one, which shares the posts of the bay next to it, or with a full bay where it does not. The shared-post version is cheaper and keeps the run looking like one piece.
Measure the remaining wall length first, allowing for the aisle you need to keep. Send us the measurement and the system and we will work out which option fits.
Where the system has a castor kit, yes. The feet come off, the castors go on, and the bay becomes something you can roll out to clean behind. Brakes on at least two castors is the arrangement worth having.
A mobile bay should carry less than a static one and should be loaded low. If the bay is going to move frequently with stock on it, a purpose-built racking trolley or platform trolley is the better tool.
Replace the shelf, not the bay. A single shelf is a small item and swapping it keeps the rest of the system in service, which is exactly the advantage of buying modular in the first place.
If the corrosion came from the environment rather than an accident, check that the finish suits the room. A dry-store shelf in a cool room will keep failing, and the refrigerated options are under commercial cool room shelving.
In a store room with small or round stock, yes. Dividers stop tins and packets migrating along a shelf and falling off the end, and they make a shelf countable at a glance, which speeds up ordering.
The alternative is containers, which do the same job and stack. See ingredient bins and gastronorms and containers for that approach, and use dividers where containers would waste the space.
With the system name, the post length and the shelf size, plus a photograph if you are unsure. Those three pieces of information resolve almost every case without a return.
Our specifications page explains how we list dimensions so you can compare them against what is on your wall. If the original purchase was through us, we can usually look the system up from the order.
