A benchtop griddle gives you a flat plate for eggs, pancakes, onions, burgers and toasted sandwiches, sitting on the bench instead of taking up floor space. That suits cafes, food trucks, bars and any kitchen adding a griddle without rebuilding the cooking line.

Commercial benchtop griddles come in gas and electric, with smooth, ribbed and half-and-half plates. See commercial benchtop gas griddles and commercial benchtop electric griddles.

These are the top FAQs for Commercial Benchtop Griddles

Gas or electric benchtop griddle?

Gas recovers faster under heavy load; electric installs anywhere with the right supply and holds a steadier temperature.

Smooth, ribbed or half-and-half?

Smooth for eggs, pancakes and onions; ribbed for marks on meat; half-and-half covers both.

See commercial benchtop grills.

What plate size do I need?

Count what sits on the plate at peak. Dimensions and plate area are on each product page.

See commercial benchtop appliances.

Does a benchtop griddle need a stand?

It needs a stable, non-combustible surface. A stand puts it at working height with storage below.

See electric cooking equipment stands.

Does it need extraction?

Griddling produces heat and grease vapour, so local extraction requirements apply.

See commercial kitchen exhaust hoods.

How do I clean the plate?

Scrape between loads, clean at the end of service and season where the manufacturer recommends it.

See grill and griddle cleaners.

When should I move to a freestanding unit?

When the plate is always full or the benchtop unit cannot recover between loads.

See commercial gas griddles.

Can it sit beside a fryer?

Leave clearance so oil splashes do not reach the plate and heat does not affect the fryer.

See commercial benchtop deep fryers.
