A single keg kegerator keeps one keg cold and tapped, so a venue can pour beer on tap without a cellar, a cool room or a multi-keg cabinet behind the bar. Small bars, clubs, function rooms and cafes adding a tap beer use them as the way in to draught, and a single keg cooler holds that keg at pouring temperature between services.

It is also sold as a single keg beer dispenser or a single beer keg refrigerator. If you want two beers available at the same time, look at the dual keg beer dispenser or a 2 tap unit, and compare the whole commercial beer keg dispensers range.

Silverchef Rent-Try-Buy applies to bar refrigeration, so you can rent the unit, see how the tap goes and buy it later.

These are the top FAQs for Single Keg Beer Dispenser

What keg sizes will a single keg cabinet take?

It is set by the internal dimensions, and Australian venues deal with several keg formats. Check the listing for the keg sizes a given cabinet is specified to hold before you commit to a supply deal.

The specifications reference explains how we publish those figures.

How is a single keg cooler different from a bar fridge?

A bar fridge chills packaged drinks on shelves. A keg cooler has the room, the gas routing and the font mounting a keg needs, and no shelving in the way.

Most bars need both; commercial bar fridges cover the bottles and cans.

Can I change which beer is on tap?

Yes, and most single-keg venues do. Flush the line properly between beers or the previous one will carry into the first pours of the new keg.

Keep line cleaner on hand from bar cleaning supplies so a changeover does not wait on a delivery.

What happens to an open keg if the venue closes for a few days?

Leave it connected, chilled and under gas. It is the cold and the gas, not the tap, that keeps the beer in condition, so switching the cabinet off over a break is what spoils a part-used keg.

If the unit is going to be off, plan the keg order so you are not holding a part-used one.

Does a single keg dispenser need ventilation?

Yes. Any refrigerated cabinet needs airflow around the condenser, and building a freestanding unit into joinery is the most common reason one works too hard.

Leave the clearance the manufacturer specifies, or choose a model made for built-in use.

What is the first thing to get right on a new tap?

Temperature, then gas pressure, then glassware. Get those three wrong and the beer foams no matter how good the keg is.

A glass chiller and the right beer glasses finish the job the dispenser starts.

What else belongs on a one-keg bar?

A glasswasher, glass racks, a commercial ice machine and somewhere to put wet glasses down.

If wine is on the list too, commercial wine fridges hold it at serving temperature.
